Dr. Carol Lines, faculty member at McNeese State University, holds graduate degrees in vocal music performance from University of Cincinnati and Louisiana State University. She teaches lyric diction, song literature, vocal pedagogy, and applied lessons to vocal and theatre majors. She is certified in Somatic Voiceworks, the Jeanette Lovetri method of teaching contemporary commercial music, and teaches both classical and musical theatre styles of singing.
Dr. Lines has sung a number of operatic roles, including Therèse in Poulenc's Les Mamelles de Tiresias, Marie in Smetana's The Bartered Bride, the mother in Gates' The Christmas Coin, and Alice in Verdi's Falstaff. She has made guest appearances with the Lake Charles Symphony and at conventions of National Association of Teachers of Singing and College Music Society. She has commissioned two song cycles, and has been published in the NATS Journal. Her research interests include music of Lori Laitman and Jacques Leguerney.
