Keith Gates: Music

Currently as the Director of University Bands at California State University, Chico, Dr. Royce S. Tevis conducts the Wind Ensemble, the Symphonic Band and guides all aspects of the University Band Program. Presently, Dr. Tevis teaches courses in conducting, wind literature, and aural musicianship. For thirty years, he has earned national recognition for quality performances of both high school and university bands under his direction. Professor Tevis maintains an active schedule as guest conductor, clinician, adjudicator, and consultant of concert, marching and jazz bands throughout the United States. With diverse experience demonstrated at all grade levels in the Midwest, South, and West, his conducting and clinician appearances have received resounding acclaim from his peers, musicians and audiences. A nationally recognized music education authority, Dr Tevis is at the leading edge of innovations in the art of band directing.
