John Sizemore

John Sizemore teaches tuba at North Greenville University in Georgia. He has performed in recitals, chamber music concerts, orchestra concerts, and has lectured and given master classes throughout the United States, Europe and Mexico. He has held the position of principal tuba in numerous orchestras including the Chicago Civic Orchestra, the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto, Italy, as well as orchestras in Charlotte, Greensboro and Winston Salem. He has performed under renowned conductors such as Sir George Solti, Carlo Maria Giulini, Daniel Barenboim, Margaret Hillis, Thomas Shippers and Christopher Keene.

For six years he served as Artist in Residence for the University System of North Carolina as a member of the Piedmont Brass Quintet. He has also performed extensively as a member of the Midwest Brass Quintet in Chicago, Illinois and the Southwest Brass Quintet in Phoenix, Arizona. He is currently principal tuba in the Asheville Symphony. John Sizemore holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the North Carolina School of the Arts.
